I’m looking forward to visiting Thackray Uncovered, a new exhibition at the Thackray Medical Museum 13th March – 30th June, particularly because two of the three artists involved took part in Shoddy exhibitions last year. Also because I worked with the Thackray to deliver a workshop about Lorina Bulwer’s workhouse embroideries.
Gemma Nash and Hayley Mills-Styles, along with Louise K Wilson, will create new installations to explore and complement the museum’s medical collections. By exploring the museum stores and taking inspiration from the weird and wonderful objects housed within, the artists will create new pieces of art to be displayed in the galleries.
See more information on the Thackray Museum’s website.
Meanwhile, Hayley gives a preview of her work on her blog.
